Mike Uglow has been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon for 18 years, based at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. Mike works as a specialist in children’s orthopaedics and is currently working in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Children’s orthopaedics deals with developmental and traumatic bone and joint disorders. Mike specialises in lower limb problems from the hip to the foot and has particular expertise in limb length and deformity correction especially that of the foot and ankle. His association with the founder, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, arose from their mutual interest in the use of external fixators to correct limb deformities in humans and animals.
Mike has published papers on several topics including clubfoot surgery and various aspects of orthopaedic trauma and is actively involved in ongoing research and education.
